Metamorphosis

Yesterday, she stretched her arms on the street

freely as an eagle flexes its wings in the sky,

Taking the whole well-deserving space;

It's breast straight up and head proud.

But today, as I was searching for a corner

to hide from the rockets, I found her shrunken

like a scorpion, hiding behind the closet;

Clawed, defensive yet fearful.

Tomorrow if we meet again, if only;

She and I will find each other climbing walls and

houses of other people,

like two house lizards, in search of insects;

Chirping only when its dark and lonely.
