To All the Fuckbois I Have Loved Before

Image
Rahul is a  cheater  fuckboi!  He is a  cheater  fuckboi!  Scene-Still from Saawariya (2007) by Sanjay Leela Bhansali starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor  Rahul came into my life when I was on the threshold of my teenage. He with his Peter Kavinsky smile triggered my primal instincts; driving my animal out of the Sundarbans into the sophisticated jungles of concrete; causing a little catastrophe in my world. Rahul flipped my Universe upside down, easily becoming the centre of my being, and I began to associate myself with Simran, a complicated combination of Maya and Nisha, and Anjali. Rahul was my only boo but I did not turn out to be his only bae. He carelessly broke my pretty, red heart in the pur

Things I Do to Please Men

Image
I post my pictures online to attract men. I don't have any other job in the world than to constantly seek male attention because that is what I live upon. My pictures online are not an expression of self. I don't tend to share my identity, my happiness, my moods, and my experiences with my family and friends, and people in general. Who cares about them in the first place? It's the compliments from men on my pictures that I look forward to. Everything else is irrelevant.  I grow my hair long to please men. Because chopping off one's hair is considered a bold step and the woman might come across as a feminazi. Long hair, on the other hand, is supposedly a symbol of femininity. So, I grow my hair long not because I love it and think that it suits my personality, but because ALL men love long hair, and I'm a stereotypical woman trying to fit herself in the existing patriarchal norms.  I workout to please men. No, not because I want to stay fit and healthy, and constan

Image Source:  What Type of Chivalry is Important to You | Glamour   In the Middle Ages, the knights used to go on adventures, slaying dragons, exploring places, winning titles, all in the name of their kings. While these noble men fought in the wars, the ladies used to wait inside the castles for their safe arrival. These ladies used to dress themselves in the finest silks and satins, their hair always done, their lips the colour of ruby, their faces all dented and painted. These women used to spend their time doing the household chores, and by engaging themselves in hobbies like, stitching clothes, painting, and gardening. Simultaneously, they spent their time waiting for the arrival of their ‘heroes,’ praying for their safety, and for the goodwill of their own kingdom. The role of these women was confined to look beautiful, maintain the house, and wait for the knights, so that when they come back, get on their knees, and present before them the ‘war trophies,’ they would acc

Feminism is about equality; negating domination of all kinds. Id a man supports inequality, he is a feminist. Simple.  'Feminism' find its roots in the word,  famina , and so, it is believed to be associated with women alone. We must realize that it had been so because the patriarchal setup gave certain privileges to men but women were barred from receiving even basic human rights (read: Primogeniture; Suffragette). That is why, feminism started off as a political movement to fight for the rights of women. The times have however, changed due to the efforts of various women and some men who have challenged the existing norms. Women have achieved their basic rights and can now be seen as taking up various challenging professions. In the contemporary era, feminism is not limited to fighting for women folk alone. But it identi
